Week 24th – 26th February,
2015
Hi everyone!
How are you? Are you enjoying the weekend?
Last week we revised the vocabulary and
expressions used ‘At a restaurant’. You can watch the
video again here:
Remember to use these expressions
to order food:
I’d like …=
I would like I’ll have …= I will
have
And
these ones to make requests (ask for something politely):
Could
you …? Can I have …?
Then, we learnt how to leave and take
messages on the phone. We did a listening exercise and we
role-played the conversations afterwards.
·
Would you
like to
leave a message?
·
Could you
tell her to ring me back when she gets back?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
·
Mr. Costner isn’t in, I’m afraid. Can I take a message?
·
Would you
tell him
I called?
·
Certainly. Your name, please
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
·
The manager is busy at the moment. May I take a message?
·
Tell him I sent
the invoice by mail, please.
·
Where are you calling from, sir?
·
From Johnson Ltd.

Week 17th –19th February,
2015
This week we finished talking about the
weather.
We read, although we already knew it, that the weather in
Britain is very changeable.
It rains
a lot but the
sun also shines, too. Winters can be cold with an average temperature of 5ºC in the
south. There’s often snow.
Summers can be cool or warm, but the temperature does not usually
go above 30ºC. It is often cloudy and there are usually grey skies for days
or weeks. There’s sometimes fog, but not so often as foreigners think.
We did a crossword to learn more vocabulary.
And we finished the topic listen to the song by Geri Halliwell ‘It’s raining men.’
We also listened to the original version which was
recorded by ‘The Weather Girls’
And that reminds me of another song called ‘The sun
always shines on TV’ by a-ha.
You can enjoy it here!
See you on Tuesday!
